A learner driver who drunkenly crashed a utility into a tree, killing one man and leaving another for dead, could be released from jail in less than two years.
Madelyne Burke, 20, was jailed today over a March 2014 crash that caused the death of Jordan Fissioli and seriously injured Zachary Rossack near Kalgoorlie.
Mr Fissioli was burnt to death when the ute hit a tree on a gravel road and caught fire.
Burke helped pull Mr Rossack, who had a broken back, to safety then told him she was sorry and that she would go get help.
